Length of stay. Four weeks suits a dog with habits rather than history. Eight weeks suits a dog with deep-set fear or several failed attempts behind them.
What you are actually solving. Pulling and jumping are habits. Deep-set fear and anxiety are rebuilds, and rebuilds take longer.
Age. The Puppy Residency runs shorter and costs less than an adult residency, because prevention costs less than repair. Every time.
Your household. A dog going home to two people running two different sets of rules needs more transition support than one going home to a household that is aligned. We would rather budget for it than pretend otherwise.
Why it costs what it does
Board and train in New Jersey covers a wide range, and the range is real rather than arbitrary. At the lower end you will find programs where dogs spend most of the day crated between short training sessions, run by one trainer with several dogs at once, and delivered with a handover at pickup.
We are at the top of the range, and here is what the difference actually buys. Dogs live in private quarters inside the lodge. There are eight acres, and they are used. Staff are on site overnight. And the program does not end when the dog goes home, which is the part that matters most, because the go-home session, the two-week follow-up and the lifetime support are where a trained dog either becomes a trained household or reverts.

Is board and train worth it compared to Private Sessions?
It depends on how much time you have. Private lessons change your handling and you do the rest, over months. Board and train changes the dog's habits in an environment we control and then transfers it to you, over weeks. Board and train is faster and costs more. If you have the time and the discipline, lessons work.
Do you guarantee results?
We do not guarantee results, and we would be wary of anyone who does. What we guarantee is support for the life of the dog. Any trainer promising a percentage is promising something about your household that they cannot know.
Why is this more than other New Jersey programs?
